A clear, step-by-step editorial process that gives you confidence in your story.
My process is designed to remove guesswork so you always know what stage your manuscript is in, what I’m working on, and how you’ll receive feedback. From our first "touching base" call to the final email, my process makes the experience clear, collaborative, and straightforward.
The process begins when you send an inquiry with a brief overview of your manuscript, including genre, word count, and where you are in the writing or revision process.
From there, I’ll confirm my availability, set up a discovery call, and we'll determine together if a manuscript critique or developmental edit is the best fit for your goals.
Once I get to know you and understand your project, I’ll send you a personalized quote and an estimated timeline based on your manuscript’s length and complexity. This is so you know exactly what to expect before any work begins.
After we agree to move forward, you’ll submit your complete manuscript in a standard digital format (pdf, Word Doc, Google Doc, etc.).
At this stage, I'll review the full story carefully, focusing on structure, character development, pacing, and overall narrative effectiveness depending on the service selected.
For manuscript critiques, I prepare a detailed editorial letter outlining strengths, areas for improvement, and clear revision priorities.
For developmental editing, I provide in-manuscript comments along with a comprehensive editorial overview to guide your revisions at both the macro and scene level.
Once the edit is complete, you’ll receive your feedback package, which will likely include an editorial letter, annotated manuscript (for developmental edits), and a revision roadmap outlining next steps. You'll also receive my calendar link so you can set up a follow-up call if you want!
After receiving your feedback, you’ll be able to move into the revision phase with a clear understanding of what to focus on.
My follow-up support is available if you have questions about implementing feedback or want clarification on my editorial notes.
